Blanche Nettles Powers, born in Minnesota, is a Georgia-based artist whose paintings, assemblages, and mixed-media works engage material systems through repetition and improvisation. Her practice is informed by fractal patterns in natural environments and shaped by an interest in material sensibilities of the Dansaekhwa movement.
She has presented solo exhibitions at Laney Contemporary, Kim Foster Gallery, and Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work has been included in juried exhibitions such as ArtFields and the Tallahassee International. Recent projects include Cloak, an installation presented with ARTS Southeast.
Nettles Powers has participated in residencies at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, Vermont Studio Center, and SCAD’s New York Studio Workspace. She has received fellowships from the Jentel Foundation and Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and has completed commissioned projects for Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Verge Yacht Design, and SCAD. She received her MFA in painting from SCAD.
